IC Information;
Character Name; Ruri Gokou (however she more often goes by her online handle, Kuroneko)
Canon; OreImo
Canon Point; She will be from the end of the OVA specials of the anime that takes the True End.
Age; 16 years
House; Hel--while she is not as intensely as dark of a character as others probably are in her house, she is incredibly fascinated to dark fantasies, the occult, etc. and does generally try to come across that way.
Power; Shadow control--she is a creative girl, so she'd enjoy being able to make all sorts of weird shapes and creatures out of shadows. And call them her dark servants, of course.
Personality; The first time you see Ruri Gokou is the first time you see Kuroneko-not just her online handle, but her persona. She's a girl who is constantly cosplaying, wearing dark Gothic Lolita clothing even in warm weather. Even though she's quiet most of the time, she has a gloomy, almost cynical air about her. Around new people, she'll be quite curt and dismissive. She seems like she truly lives up to her motto, "It's stupid to care about what other people think."
Thing is, she acts like the character she poses as, the Queen of Nightmare from her favorite anime, Maschera. She talks about her own dark powers and how she isn't exactly human, even though it's all fictional. It carries out into her personality as well. Thus once you manage to engage her in conversation, she's very snobbish and condescending. She'll make your feel inferior with her sardonic comments, her many insults, and her tendency to casually use big words in her speech. She really is a selfish character, and she'll tease and say things just to get a reaction, such as when she called Kyosuke "nii-san" like a girl from an eroge in front of Kirino or when she baited Sena into revealing that she was a fujoshi.
Kuroneko is also very obsessive and stubborn. She's an otaku, which says more than enough for her hobbies. She shows a lot of creativity, a creativity that she sees through in her large projects. She writes a lot of extensive fanfiction, for example; her doujinshi are long and elaborate and one example doujin of hers used in the show came with its own separate guidebook. She also sews all of her own costumes and accessories herself. But her stubbornness additionally manifests itself in her competitive nature. One of her best friends is Kirino, though you wouldn't know it from their constant bickering and different tastes--and Kuroneko manages to hold her own in their many arguments. And through her amazing skill at playing video games, she never wants to lose and she's very confident in her own abilities to win. And if she doesn't? Well, she doesn't care what others think, after all. When the Games Research Club at her school lost a contest and received horrible comments, Kuroneko's friend Sena freaked out about the negative reaction. However, Kuroneko dismissed all of those comments and offered a simple solution--just don't look at them!
However, deep down inside, Ruri is actually a shy and insecure girl. On some level, she does care about what other people think, even if it's not necessary strangers. She really doesn't know how to act in some situations. Perhaps that is why she has made her persona a part of herself. When we first see her in a meet-up of one of her online groups, she doesn't do anything but check her phone; she clearly wasn't expecting to make any acquaintances herself. It wasn't until Saori's intervention that she got to meet her future best friends. And really, it surprisingly is more easy to fluter her than it seems. She'll try her best to keep her calm facade, though. And what may come as a surprise is that she has a caring side to her. Ruri cares a lot for her sisters--she comes from a financially challenged family, so her parents are usually out working late. Despite her selfishness, she's still very loyal to her friends.
Where I'm taking her from, she is gradually making some steps forward in the social skills department. By the end of the specials, she has managed to adjust to high school and even made a new friend in Sena. She's starting to become more honest with her feelings (especially in trying to deal with Kyosuke; probably because he's a guy-and a normal one, at that-who actually accepted her and got close to her) and is softening up a bit, even managing to genuinely compliment people at times! However, she's still the same prideful, condescending Kuroneko that we all know and love. It would be interesting to see what new experiences lie for her at Asgard.

Log Sample; Kuroneko didn't know what to think. First, there was the issue of landing in this foreign, unknown place. Was this some sort of sick joke? Who could have played this? Her mind raced as she surveyed the lavish yet dull decorations of the room...no one she knew would be able to be this elaborate. Was this some sort of dream? Nevertheless, she figured that she will try to remain as calm as she call. If all to verbally berate the hell out of whoever did this later down the line. Maybe I'll even put a curse on them. She almost smirked at the thought.
And if it was a dream...well, she was stuck with those stupid Meruru DVDs. Why now? She had just been chatting with Kirino online, who asked her to return them, and Kuroneko was all too happy to return that disgrace of a show. Seriously, a series that relied on cuteness to hide its horrible writing and stupid messages? How dare it compete with Maschera! It wasn't even worthy of being a competitor! And with that, she set off...and landed in this godforsaken place.
But then she thought about those awesome powers, and that thought alone made her giddy with delight. It's what she always dreamed of. Not only would she have her own denizens of darkness, but imagine if Kirino was her! Kuroneko would be able to beat her in the most insane of battles. How satisfying! If this was truly real, then this would be the best part Yet she started to panic. The powers involved meeting new people? How would she ever manage that? She fiddled with her fingers, looking down sullenly. She'll try her best, but she wondered how it could ever happen if she couldn't get over her shyness (and the stupidity of others, of course). But for those powers...she'll do anything.
